Big Green
Big Green is a national nonprofit organization that connects kids to real food through a network of learning gardens and food literacy programs in low-income schools across America. Ebb+Flow was tasked to lead the organization from its fairly staid identity more fitting of the modern industrial restaurant group who founded it into a vibrant, lush, whimsical brand befitting the joys and growth found in the teaching gardens that anchor their approach.
We began with a new name that’s more reflective of the mission and work of the organization. Around it, we built an identity system that speaks to the organization’s organic, ground-up efforts to change the broken food system in America. The logo utilizes shapes that mimic the grow beds in the learning gardens. The brand design includes custom vegetable illustrations that are both whimsical and elegant and a vibrant color that palette evokes the very yield of the gardens themselves.
