Our Story: Connecting Ideas with People Since 2006 
Shane Kendrick started Ebb+Flow in 2006. In the years since, E+F has provided Denver and national companies and organizations with creative communications solutions and designs.

In May 2015, Sarah Lehmann joined as a partner and principal, after working with Shane for four years to elevate the brand identity and creative assets of the Denver Public Schools Foundation, where she served as VP of Communications and Marketing. Shane and Sarah recognized their unique balance of strategy, creativity and technical acumen, and decided to launch a joint endeavor to serve clients across a wide range of sectors.

Shane Kendrick

Shane Kendrick, Principal / Creative Director
With 20+ years of experience as a visual communicator, Shane has designed and directed award-winning creative solutions for print, web and broadcast media – both large and small.

Since the completion of his educational training at Virginia Commonwealth University, Shane has worked for several creative firms in the Richmond, Virginia, Washington DC, San Francisco and Denver markets. Most recently, Shane has been busy running Ebb+Flow Design, specializing in the creation and extension of brand initiatives, identity systems and web projects.

Shane holds both a Master and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications from Virginia Commonwealth University, and has taught courses in visual communications for more than 10 years at three different institutions.

Shane’s work has been recognized by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, the Art Director’s Clubs of Washington DC and Denver, and published in the Graphis Design Annual, HOW magazine, Rockport Publishing and the LogoLounge series

Sarah Lehman

Sarah Lehmann, Principal / Strategy Director 
Sarah Lehmann is Principal and co-owner of Ebb+Flow Creative. After more than a decade working in communications for non-profit and fundraising organizations, in 2015 Sarah joined her longtime friend and creative partner, Shane Kendrick, at Ebb+Flow Creative – with a mission to serve passionate people and impact-driven organizations through strategic, creative and effective branding and design. Sarah’s passion lies in the opportunity to serve as a true thought partner to clients, working alongside them to help identify the most powerful ways to convey the unique value and resounding impact of their organization and their work.

Previously, Sarah served as the Vice President of Marketing & Communications for the Denver Public Schools Foundation, contributing to the vision and executing the strategy that helped the organization grow 112 percent in fundraising revenue from $6.6 million to $14.1 million during her five-year tenure. In this role, Sarah directed the communications and marketing for the organization, setting strategy and overseeing a team of professionals in community outreach, branding, design, web communications, media relations and social media. Prior to that role, she served as Marketing and Public Relations Manager at the Vail Valley Foundation, marketing art, athletic and education programs across the Vail Valley and Eagle County. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Sarah serves on the advisory board for PCs for People, a social enterprise that recycles computers from businesses and government agencies and provides them at little or no cost to families who otherwise could not afford them; and also serves on the board of directors for Project Helping, an innovative organization that improves mental wellness by creating meaningful volunteer experiences and inspiring Kindfulness. Previously, Sarah served as a mentor for the City Year Women’s Leadership Initiative, and on The Denver Hospice NextGen Board of Directors. Since 2012, she has had the honor of being paired with a DPS first grade student to read weekly as a volunteer of the TutorMate program. She was a member of the 2010 Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation’s Access Denver program, the 2015 Downtown Denver Partnership’s Leadership Program, and the 2016 Colorado Business Committee for the Arts Leadership Arts program. Sarah lives in Golden with her husband Jon and two dogs, and can be found in the mountains hiking and skiing when she’s not at her desk.


Chris Ryckeley, Senior Developer / Technology Strategist
Chris has 18yrs of experience developing complex business models ranging from web strategy, systems and application development, advertising models and web marketing initiatives. His past experience includes Director of User Experience at Sapient and Creative Strategy Director with Rare Medium. Chris has extensive experience working within financial services, retail products, B2C product sites, and managing large scale solutions for over 25 fortune 500 companies.

Many of his key responsibilities include managing the front-end development teams; developing compelling system interfaces and helping clients gain real business value from digital business solutions. Chris has worked with clients such as Standard & Poors, Broadridge Financial Services, RedBull, Intel, Janus, Oppenheimer, Wal-Mart, AT&T, Quaker State, Infiniti, Dr. Pepper, Interstate Batteries, HP, Compaq, TU Electric, Qwest and the NFL.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Multimedia & Design at The Art Institute of Dallas and has also spent 5 years studying Architecture, Advertising and Media Communications at The University of Texas. Chris also has sat on the national board of directors for the American Institute for Graphic Arts (AIGA) as a chairman for the discipline of User Experience Design.


Melissa Morris, Senior Graphic Designer
Melissa Morris is a creative designer with Ebb + Flow Creative. Most recently Melissa was a communications manager and designer with IMA, Inc. supporting a national salesforce and marketing group with collateral, proposals, web content and media relations. Prior to that Melissa worked with several major players in the residential and multi-family industry, developing creative in support of their brands and market strategies.

Melissa is a mother of three and proud owner of a new yellow lab named “Goose”. She volunteers her time to support the Denver Public Schools Foundation and Denver’s Road Home.
